Sam Greenlee

Sam is the Executive Director of Alchemist Community Development Corporation (Alchemist CDC), a Sacramento-based non-profit that connects communities to land, food, and opportunity. Alchemist CDC is best known for enhancing the quality of life in under-resourced communities by improving access to nutritious foods, implementing community-supported public green spaces, and fostering economic self-sufficiency through business entrepreneurship. In his work at Alchemist, Sam is engaged in food and agricultural policy issues at the city, county, and state levels, and helped lead the successful passage of SB 907 (Pan, 2022) to create the Local Equitable Access to Food (LEAF) program. Sam is passionate about building strong equitable communities where the most vulnerable neighbors can flourish.
