About Our Coordinator and Policy Advocate,

Matthew Bridges

​

Matthew is the Coordinator and Policy Advocate at the Sacramento Food Policy Council. Since moving to Sacramento in the summer of 2018, Matthew has worked as a community organizer and project assistant for community based organizations to ensure a better future for Sacramento's youth, and promote equity and environmental justice through land use and planning decisions. 

 

He believes that food sovereignty and food justice are key components to a healthy community, and are deeply interlinked to economic development opportunity. Matthew is passionate about uplifting creative, visionary pathways for environmental justice brought forth by communities at the forefront of food insecurity.

Matthew has a Bachelors of Science Degree in International Agricultural Development, with a minor in Soil Science from UC Davis.
