CalFresh Access

Campaign Overall Goal:

1. Increase CalFresh utilization at Sacramento County farmers markets;

2. Expand CalFresh (and related incentive programs) outreach to all CalFresh recipients in the county;

3. Boost engagement for those that do receive outreach, to attend farmers markets and routinely return.

Current Projects

  • Creative Economy Grant: Create a local brand/logo to promote CalFresh utilization at farmers markets. Create and place highly visible promotional signage.

  • Collaboration with the Sacramento County Department of Human Assistance (DHA) to identify and carry out creative methods for promoting CalFresh utilization at farmers markets through DHA staff and existing communication channels.

  • Create policy, funding and technical assistance solutions that will result in ALL farmers markets in Sacramento County having Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) systems for processing CalFresh payments.

  • LEARN MORE.
